BIC Marks 5th Anniversary with Prime Ministerial Award

The ceremony was attended by leaders from the Communist Party, Ministry of Finance, State Bank of Vietnam, BIDV’s Chairman, company directors and management board members and center and division leaders, headquarter staff, BIDV member companies, and close, highly-regarded BIC clients.
The Prime Minister used the occasion to present BIC with a Certificate of Merit for the company’s contribution in developing the country and protecting the nation. A Ministry of Finance spokesperson acknowledged the great efforts made by BIC during the last five years and also sent his best wishes to all BIC members, wishing them success in the next period.
In his speech, BIDV Chairman Mr Tran Bac Ha summarized BIDV’s five year experience of insurance business operations, confirming its position as a core part of BIDV business. He also underlined the provision of insurance services as part of the strategy to develop BIDV’s brand name and improved business performance.
In regards to BIDV’s support and participation in BIC’s achievements following incorporation, Mr Tran Bac Ha said: “BIDV’s stake in BIC will decrease through the issuing of new stocks, which will increase publicity and transparency in BIC’s performance. But BIDV will retain a determining ratio to ensure the direction and support of BIDV in BIC’s efforts”
Looking to the future, BIC’s Chairman Mr Pham Quang Tung said: “There are many opportunities opening up to BIC in the coming period, and also many difficulties and challenges. With the task of transforming BIC into a prestigious and well-regarded brand name, it is necessary to continue improving competitiveness and customer services. Our target for the next five years is to maintain an average growth rate of 35% per year. In the first year of this period, BIC aims to achieve total revenue of 1,000 billion dong and profit of 100 billion dong. I believe that with your support and cooperation, BIC is entirely capable of achieving these targets.”
