BIC selected as Best General Insurer of 2010
BIDV Insurance Corporation (BIC) triumphed in a recent VietnamNet Newspaper Best Vietnam online poll, winning the accolade as the Best General Insurer of 2010. The ballot, organized by the Vietnam Economic Forum and VietnamNet Newspaper, is a survey conducted to rank the quality of services provided by the country’s business sector.
The winners were judged on a range of criteria including quality, price and customer service across seven sectors including, consumer goods, garments, fashion, automobiles, motor bikes, finance, insurance, IT, communications, and aviation. The results were based on votes compiled from readers of VietnamNet, in conjunction with the opinions of domestic and international economists, journalists, and leaders of the Vietnam Report Top 500 Biggest Vietnamese Businesses (VNR500).
BIC’s poll-topping result follows the insurer’s dramatic debut on the Vietnam Report Company’s independently compiled Top 500 Fastest Growing Vietnamese Businesses (FAST 500).
In the first four months of 2011, BIC registered total revenue of 364,032 billion dong, an increase of 92% compared to that of the same period in 2010, of which, revenue on written premiums totaled 213,431 billion dong, and revenue on financial investments totaled 119,606 billion dong. Total pre-tax profits amounted to 27,280 billion dong. As part of BIC’s ambitious expansion plans, the corporation opened nine new business offices, bringing the total number of business offices to 85 by end of the first four months of the year, adding to the corporation’s 21 wholly-owned subsidiaries nationwide.
