BIC records over VND 60 billion in losses just three days after Typhoon No. 13

As of November 9, 2025, just three days after Typhoon No. 13 (Kalmaegi) struck Vietnam’s mainland, BIDV Insurance Corporation (BIC) recorded more than 120 insurance claims, with total estimated losses exceeding VND 60 billion. The damages were concentrated mainly in two lines of business: property–engineering insurance and motor vehicle insurance.
Immediately after the storm subsided, BIC dispatched claims adjusters to quickly reach the hardest-hit areas, promptly documenting losses to people and property, while providing support, advice, and guidance to customers on initial handling measures to minimize damage. In addition, BIC directly met with and encouraged affected customers, reaffirming its commitment to accompany them throughout the recovery process. For complex and special cases, BIC promptly appointed independent assessors to conduct loss surveys, while also assigning its own adjusters to coordinate, ensuring accurate determination of causes, extent of damage, and legal grounds for advancing payments or settling claims.
Given the severe nationwide impact of Typhoon No. 13, BIC will continue to closely monitor developments and work in coordination with authorities, customers, and partners to accelerate the claims settlement process. With its commitment to always stand by customers in all circumstances, BIC will mobilize maximum resources to ensure that assessment and compensation are carried out swiftly, transparently, and in compliance with regulations—helping customers stabilize their lives and business operations after the disaster.
