BIC supports customers in overcoming the aftermath of Central Vietnam’s floods

At the end of October 2025, Central Vietnam experienced a severe flooding event with record-breaking rainfall, causing extensive damage to both people and property. Several localities such as Thua Thien Hue, Da Nang, and Quang Ngai were deeply inundated, significantly disrupting daily life and business operations.

In response to the disaster, BIDV Insurance Corporation (BIC) promptly deployed assessment teams and provided support to customers in handling claims across the affected areas.

As of November 3, 2025, BIC had recorded over 150 loss incidents, primarily in the motor vehicle and property–engineering insurance lines. The total estimated compensation value exceeded VND 40 billion.

As soon as weather conditions allowed, BIC swiftly mobilized its claims assessment teams to flooded areas to visit affected customers, document damages, offer guidance, and advise on initial mitigation measures. In parallel, BIC worked closely with independent loss adjusters to urgently determine the extent of damages, providing a basis for advance payments or timely compensation.

In many locations, BIC staff overcame challenges in transportation, weather, and access conditions to be present on-site even before floodwaters had fully receded—ensuring prompt damage assessment and support for customers in completing claim procedures.

To ensure efficient processing, BIC established a rapid response protocol, assigned dedicated personnel to each region, and maintained continuous communication with customers through all available channels. Priority was given to serious losses that directly impacted livelihoods and business operations. Close coordination with professional assessment partners also ensured that damage evaluations were conducted objectively, thoroughly, and in accordance with policy terms.

BIC views timely customer support not only as a responsibility but as a core commitment. Fast and transparent compensation helps customers recover their assets and reinforces trust in the role of insurance—especially in times of hardship caused by natural disasters.

BIC is currently continuing to review outstanding claims and actively working with customers to complete compensation procedures as quickly as possible.
