BIC among leading subsidiaries of BIDV for 5th consecutive year

This is the fifth consecutive year after equitization (2010) that BIC has earned this honor. Mr. Tran Hoai An, BIC’s CEO, represented the collectives and the individuals of BIC to receive this outstanding title in “The 2015 task and business plan implementation” conference of BIDV.

Also at this conference, for the first time Lao-Viet Insurance Joint Venture Company (Joint venture of BIC in Laos with ownership at 65% by BIC) has been also recognized as the leading offshore subsidiary of BIDV and LVI’s CEO was awarded the title of The excellent CEO in 2014.

Insurance business activities are always considered as one of the two main pillars of BIDV beside the traditional banking sector and have made significant contributions to the business results of BIDV and to the development and enhancement of the BIDV brand. Thanks to the close attention of the Board of Directors of BIDV and strong commitment of the whole BIC collective, insurance business always made impressive strides over the past several years in operations. In 2014, overcoming the adverse conditions of market economy and non-life insurance market, BIC still completed most of the year's plans outstandingly.

Remarkably, on a basis of positive business results and good financial situation in the last 5 years, A.M. Best, one of the leading credit rating agencies in the world has assigned B+ for financial strength grading and bbb- for issuer credit rating to BIC. This is a very positive result for credit rating of the business for the first time, which provides BIC with a good opportunity to reach international standards and continue to develop overseas investment and attract potential strategic investors.
