BIC appoints new Deputy General Director

The announcement ceremony was attended and witnessed by Mr. Nguyen Huy Tua, Member of BIDV Board of Directors, Mr. Sam Chan, Chief Executive Officer of Fairfax Asia Limited, Mr. Pham Quang Tung, Deputy General Director of BIDV, Chairman of BIC, representatives of leaders of BIDV Divisions of Human Resources and Investment Management as well as all members of the Board of Directors, Board of Management, Directors of Divisions/Centers at the Head Office and Directors of some wholly-owned subsidiaries of BIC.

Mr. Huynh Quoc Viet has been worked at BIC since the early years of establishment and taken over many important positions such as: Head of Sales Department – BIDV – QBE Insurance Joint Venture Company, HCMC Branch; Head of Sales 1 Department – BIDV Insurance Corporation, HCMC Branch; Deputy Director and Acting Director of BIDV Insurance Corporation, HCMC Branch; Director of BIDV Ho Chi Minh Insurance Company and Director of BIDV Saigon Insurance Company. In every working position, Mr. Viet has excellently completed his assigned tasks. According to the appointment, from 01 November 2015, Mr. Viet is appointed to hold the position of Deputy General Director of BIC.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Pham Quang Tung, Chairman of BIC highly appreciated the competence of Mr. Huynh Quoc Viet and his contribution to BIC over the years. The appointment of Mr. Huynh Quoc Viet is a necessary step on the one hand to consolidate the management of BIC, and on the other hand to meet the needs of business development in the new period when BIC receives investment and technical aid from the strategic partner Fairfax, and at the same time continues to strive to make insurance become one of the two main business pillars of BIDV system.

Speaking at the ceremony to take over the new task, Mr. Huynh Quoc Viet said that it was a great honor and a big challenge for himself. Mr. Viet committed, along with the Board of Management and all colleagues in BIC, to build a growing BIC system, becoming the prestigious insurance brand in domestic and international scope, living up to expectations and objectives set by the management of BIDV and BIC in the new period.
