VINACHEM: Meeting to Discuss Cooperation Opportunities with the World Bank (WB)

On the morning of October 2, 2025, in Hanoi, Vietnam National Chemical Group (VINACHEM) held a working session and meeting with representatives from the World Bank (WB) to discuss cooperation opportunities and expanding support in various areas, especially in promoting the Green Transformation Program—one of the Group's key strategic orientations for the coming period.

Attending the meeting on the World Bank side were Ms. Sudeshna Banerjee – Regional Director for Infrastructure, along with relevant officers. Representing VINACHEM were Mr. Đào Trọng Cường – Deputy General Director of the Group, and leaders from the Technical Department and the Communication & Development Department.

During the session, Mr. Đào Trọng Cường – Deputy General Director of VINACHEM, provided an overview of the Group’s recent operations, emphasizing efforts in restructuring, technological innovation, and developing eco-friendly products, as well as a strong commitment to achieving emissions reduction targets and sustainable development. He stated that VINACHEM is actively implementing the Green Transformation Program for the 2025–2030 period, with a vision to 2050, which prioritizes innovating production technology, improving energy efficiency, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and developing the circular economy.

The World Bank representatives highly appreciated VINACHEM’s efforts and strategic steps, affirming the WB's readiness to accompany and explore models for financial and technical support, as well as sharing international experience to help the Group realize its goals of greening production. The WB also proposed several key areas of cooperation, such as: supporting access to preferential capital sources for clean technology investment projects; technical consulting on environmental and social governance; and cooperation in green technology research, development, and transfer.

The meeting provided an opportunity for both parties to hold open discussions, identifying specific cooperation priorities that align with VINACHEM's sustainable development direction and the World Bank's support strategy. This is considered an important initial step that opens up extensive engagement opportunities, especially in making VINACHEM's Green Transformation Program substantial and effective.
