Approve the sustainable forest management plan at the Ia Rsai Protection Forest Management Board

Ia Rsai Protection Forest Management Board is located in the Northeast of Krong Pa district, 30 km from the district center, more than 90 km from Gia Lai provincial capital to the south of Gia Lai province. The Board was established in 2002 and manages more than 17,675 hectares of forestry land. With an area spanning 20 sub-regions and relatively complex terrain, many high mountains, dissected and differentiated. Due to such terrain characteristics, management of Ban's forest land is quite difficult. The approval of the sustainable forest management plan has created momentum for the next implementation steps to ensure economic goals, environmental protection and social security in the locality.

Economic goals:

Create sustainable revenue from specific forest environmental service payment activities from supply activities including the service "Protecting soil, limiting erosion and sedimentation of lake beds, river beds, and stream beds"; "Regulating and maintaining water sources for production and social life, aiming to lease the forest environment to develop eco-tourism, scientific research, and teaching" on the management area of ​​the Ia Rsai PFMB to Reduce the burden of state budget spending on annual forest management, protection and development.

Environmental goals:

Well protected 19,039.05 hectares of Management Board area, improved forest cover and stabilized forest cover thanks to reasonable silvicultural measures. To ensure the function of nature conservation, protection and protection of the ecological environment, protection of forest biological genetic resources, and scientific research. Maintain and enhance the multifaceted value of forests, maintain and improve biological productivity and supply capacity from forests. Doing a good job of biodiversity conservation includes: Protecting existing forest ecosystems, especially vulnerable ecosystems such as dipterocarp forest ecosystems; maintain species diversity, protect animal and plant species in the area such as langurs, muntjacs, and other rare plants.

Social goals:

Creating jobs, increasing income for workers, stabilizing the livelihoods of people in the region through forest management and protection contracting activities, forest development, infrastructure construction, and eco-tourism in many different forms. 

Raise awareness of local communities about the role and importance of sustainable forest management and biodiversity conservation through environmental education and ecotourism activities.
