Completion of the sustainable forest management plan of Kim Hy Nature Reserve

The People's Committee of Bac Kan province has just issued Decision No. 1016/QD-UBND dated June 9th, 2022 approving the Plan for sustainable forest management of Kim Hy Nature Reserve for the period of 2021-2030 to aim management, protection and development of forests in a stable and sustainable manner; improve the efficiency of forest management and forest quality; maximize the special-use functions and other functions of the forest.

Environmentally: To well manage and protect 15,053.25 hectares of existing forest and forestry land, minimize forest degradation and forest land erosion, prevent forest fires as well as pests and diseases of forest trees, reduce the negative impacts of noise as well as garbage and smog from eco-tourism service activities in the area; Maximizing the functions of forests such as: Preserving the limestone mountain ecosystem; Protection of domestic and production water sources; Regulating water sources, limiting natural disasters and preserving genetic resources of rare and precious species of animals and plants. 

Economically: To provide values and services for the environment of special-use forests for the development of ecotourism in combination with forest protection and development; Strengthen cooperation, joint ventures and associations to diversify financial sources and access to grants for forest conservation and development; minimize contradictions and conflicts in the relationship between the economy, environment and society and forest conservation and development.

Socially: Stabilizing jobs, increasing incomes for residential communities in the region; Construction of infrastructure and traffic; Supporting plant varieties - livestock, economic development, creating many products (OCOP); Maintain social order and safety, minimize negative impacts of people on the stability and development of forests.
