1. Forest fire warning
Forest fires bring many serious consequences, damage to people, animals and plants, difficult-to-restore land, atmospheric waste, pollution,... The frequency of forest fires is increasing with increasingly difficult-to-control scale such as: forest fires in Australia in 2019-2020, Maui in 2023. In the first 4 months of 2024 alone, our country had 89 forest fires.
AI cameras recognize real-time forest fire indicators such as flames, smoke or hot temperatures that are at risk of catching fire. AI cameras immediately send out warnings, from which the forest protection team quickly moves to extinguish the fire when it is still small, helping to significantly reduce damage to resources or human resources.
Currently, FIS has built a ground monitoring station to monitor forest fires with AI cameras and is consulting on installation for provinces nationwide.
2. Motion detection, intrusion recognition
With AI cameras, the motion detection feature develops in a new direction, which is to detect people through pixel change activation recognition and can analyze illegal intrusion into areas with certain boundaries. It can also distinguish the direction in which the intruder is moving or the time of stopping and then issue a warning. This is very useful in identifying illegal loggers and tracking down their escape routes.
3. Identifying wildlife behavior, movements, and routes
AI camera traps allow scientists to process data quickly, efficiently, and accurately, providing valuable insights into animal behavior, population dynamics, and ecological interactions. Identify vulnerable populations, recognize habitat degradation, and develop effective interventions. From data recorded over time, researchers can identify important migration corridors and seasonal movement trends, information to design conservation strategies to protect these areas.
By leveraging the power of artificial intelligence and other high-tech, AI cameras are able to uncover hidden aspects of the natural world, reducing the devastating impact of wildfires, as well as protecting habitats for both people and wildlife, continuing to guide conservation efforts for future generations.
