Ground Monitoring Station for Forest Fire Monitoring

INTRODUCE

The ground monitoring station for forest fires uses PTZ cameras with dual spectra (thermal and optical) operating continuously 24 hours a day. The station automatically detects early and continuously any forest fire points within a 13.5 km radius, helping forest rangers, forest owners, and specialized forest protection forces to control fires early; proactively prepare personnel, equipment, and firefighting tools promptly in the monitored forest area; and enhance the effectiveness of forest fire prevention and firefighting work, minimizing damage caused by forest fires.

PTZ Camera (Thermal & Optical) with a 13.5km range

The ground observation station for forest fire monitoring consists of 2 components:

  • Forest fire monitoring ground observation system
  • Installation infrastructure

1.2 PTZ Camera Integrated Circuit Solution with Dual Spectrum (Thermal & Optical)

Manages connection and communication with the camera. Allows automatic collection and retrieval of data from the thermal camera (camera streams, image data, video, audio, etc.), which serves as the input data source for the software integrated with the thermal camera to detect and pinpoint fire locations. Includes:

  • AI Processor: This is the central device for processing camera data and sending image, audio, and video streams to the server; Automatically updates software via the Internet;
  • AC-DC Power Supply: Input 220-240VDC, output 12VDC-3A;
  • Monitoring Unit: Measures the temperature of the control cabinet; Monitors the operation of the AI processor;
    Surge Protector;
  • Control Cabinet: Designed with 2 layers to be waterproof and insect-proof.

1.3 Software solution integrating dual-spectrum PTZ cameras (Thermal & Optical) for fire point detection and location identification

The system is designed with a modular architecture consisting of 5 main components, maximizing the capabilities of the ISAPI application programming interface (API) and advanced algorithms in the field of computer vision. The 3-camera triangulation model with integrated terrain data allows for positioning accuracy of ±1 meter, surpassing traditional solutions.

Key features:

  • Advanced positioning model: 3 overlapping cameras with triangulation and terrain-aware positioning
  • High accuracy: ±1m for coordinate precision, 97.1% for fire detection
  • Real-time processing: 95-137ms end-to-end processing time
  • Optimized API integration: Fully leverages Hikvision ISAPI capabilities
  • Scalability: Supports 30+ cameras with optimal performance

The main highlight of the system is the three-camera overlapping positioning model combined with terrain data of the surveyed area, creating an accurate and reliable positioning solution for detecting and determining the coordinates of a fire point.
